Residential Renovation | Kentucky
This quintessential mid-century home nestles into the small community of Anchorage, Kentucky, its Bradford limestone exterior and artful use of angles and windows feeling as relevant as ever. Thoughtful updates moved the home into modern-day living, bringing new scale and function for a growing family.
The expanse of poured terrazzo flooring in the sunken living room helps balance the scale of the revised elements, grounding the space while honoring its original design. Mirroring the home's original plans, we added custom cherry cabinetry with a fresh curve, seamlessly blending past and present. A hidden access door from the kitchen to the bedroom and private spaces brings form and function together in lockstep.
Special mention to Daniel Chafin and his team at Great House Construction, who handcrafted the cabinetry, ensuring every piece was tailored to the home. Revisions to the lighting program and all interior spaces truly transformed this family home. Artwork created and provided by the homeowner was blended beautifully with pieces from OVO Studio, Samantha McCurdy, and Kelly Zellers, completing a space that remains both timeless and deeply personal.
