Residential Renovation, Design + Build | Crestwood, Kentucky
Nestled in the rolling hills of a former Kentucky horse farm, this 12 acre property called out to us for rebirth. The unexpected use of deep black caviar, cedar and stone on the exterior of the main house commands attention and hints toward a fresh transformation within. The white oak and walnut entryway creates a gently textured welcome and features a bold painting by local artist Kelly Zellers. Clean lines of the dining room and chef’s kitchen are accompanied by magnificent freeform elements. Wild veins strike through the black Enigma Quartzite countertops evoking subtle bolts of lightning. The strength of the custom integrated pull, walnut cabinetry is offset by a hand-patinated backsplash made with care by Natalie from sheets of raw brass. The primary bedroom, with playful doses of color and rich textures, serves as a gentle respite, while its adjacent bath beckons with the deep hues of a clear night's sky. With dramatic shadows cast through generous windows at all hours, every facet of this family home sings in harmony, embracing all who enter with the generosity of the soft hills just beyond its walls. Each window frames natural landscape as art. A natural evolution indeed.
